Its been a while….

I have a lot going on with my career. We have a mezzoman.com v2, which is out on beta currently. I hope to have the site finished with a mezzoman theme for wordpress. WordPress theme creation is still really new with me.

Work has been a work for the past year, I currently work full-time at a distrabution/marketing company. I hope by the end of this ressession, I will have learned alot from this company and will be able to move on to something in web related field. I learned in school, that I cannot learn everything or know everything. So my life still has room for improvement.

However, I will continue to build new site and grow a possible company with my friend Marc. I hope that my future will bring many more exciting application to people to use.

Woman’s Health Mag + Mezzoman.com

Good news all, I just found out that are site Mezzoman.com has been published in Woman’s Health Magazine. This is real great news because of my desire to create useful websites to help people and to contribute my skills as a web designer and developer. I wish to develop this site further by adding some other features like a Wiki for databasing places people visit.

ASUS M3AMVP Deluxe / Wifi

I need to say that this computer project is in the trash. For a month and a half I have been dealing with ASUS Tech support, there is got to be a way to get this computer working. I for one need to say that ASUS needs to have a satisfaction quality standard.

My first problem with ASUS started as a BIOS Issue. They suggested that I send it in because it could be a physical voltage issue. When I said that I know its a BIOS issue, they argued with me. After loosing this argument, because the woman said that she would only allow an RMA, I sent it in. Load and behold, my argument was correct, because the cause for error was a faulty BIOS. It turned out that the BIOS that was issued on the chip was removed from their download list and the reason that it was a very unstable BIOS.

My second problem with ASUS was their system of communication. In using my computer and then turning it off to go to work, it decided to not turn back on. If you must go specific, I would not go to a status screen or post a screen at all. After trying to troubleshoot this motherboard, it came down to a possible issue with parts. I again thought of BIOS. There was no way in know if a new bios chip would work, I asked anyways. I asked them if they could get me a new BIOS chip. After some inspection on the board and reading the chip was in fact removable. I called up ASUS and asked to send me a BIOS. Well the answer was no, they said that the chip was not removable and that it needs to come in. Well I knew better, I spoke with another representative. She listened and said it sound like it was a removable chip. She put me in touch with the right people. It turned out that tech support was not up to date on specifics on the board. In a few days I got my chip.

But getting that chip led to my road to madness. Because the BIOS chip did not work. So I need to test part and there was no way for me to test out part with my friends, because they don’t have the required sockets for the processor and don’t have the same memory as me. My only option was to send all core system parts to their respective manufacture. To make a long story short, I never found out what is wrong with the board. They did however replaced it and I discovered before I sent it, that the board did have a defect. It had a slight bend in the board, this is quite uncommon. I am surprised that the board itself would even turn on. My theory is that the heat from the capacitors, warped the copper insert in the board that was created for cooling. I will never know.

My third problem is that the new board that they sent was dead on arrival (DOA). This proposed a problem, which was that I need a platform to do my side job, which is web design. I now ensured that I will have a working system, I bought a motherboard from Amazon.com, MSI K9A2 Platinum. ASUS should send me out a motherboard ASP and I hope the ASUS board works because that save me a 400 in total cost on a motherboard. If it does work, I do plan on returning the MSI board back.

For my next purchase, its might be a Apple notebook, I need to insure that I always have a working machine. I am for sure getting tired of windows based systems and like the simple nature of Mac OSX.

The Killers – Mr Brightside (Jacques Lu Cont’s Thin White Duke Mix)

I was on the site v-moda.com becaue I was just looking around at their ear-phones. Well to make a short story short, they had this remix of the killers playing and I thought it was great. Well also it also states that the ear-phone I purchased is 100$$ big ones. At the time of purchase they were 35.00 dollars on Amazon. Turns out that they became a big hit with some big name people. So the price was jack up. How this applies is because I want to have similar music from the v-moda site.

Mezzoman … Taking OFF?

Man, I can’t believe that are application took off. I didn’t write the functioning code, but the redesign was created by me. After all the hard work of getting bloggers to check out the site and marketing the site, we just thought that it was a site that wouldn’t really take off. We originally thought that the idea was great and we even created a Facebook App. We called this Facebook App, Mezzoman Red. Red was going to be the application that put Mezzoman on the web. After all the use of the Facebook Api and PHP work, The app was one that turned out to be cool, but still limited. Marc Z, Who wrote the code for Mezzoman was limited to the API of Google maps. Google is the responsible for the limitation of Mezzoman. Marc has responded to all comment and question, and the most common phrase is, “the site does very little beyond what Google Maps does.” (Peter Robinet) This comment address all the concerns that we have had from the beginning. Mezzoman is a tool for a simple solution to a common problem. The design of the code however is really complicated its designed with two geocoded address points that were constrained with the curvature of the earth. The math involved was to say very complicated. Being that I am a designer and not a computer scientist, looking at the code seemed to be a lot of trig.

Marc’s vision for this project was more then genius, it also took a little luck to get the code to work as well as it does. There are some other project that could be in the works, but today I am a web designer on the side and a desktop publisher in profession. All of the project that we create are created because we see a possible need for them and like to serve are friends as well as the world community. The only other plus is the possible retirement package.

its been more then a week and my life has slowed down because of some technical problems. My PC has failed and its being fixed or tested at the ASUS facility. I had a great run with this motherboard so far and I hope when it returns it works. Its funny that all my emails and communications are being done from a cell phone or smartphone. I wish my phone had a bigger screen. All the time I spent on that computer made my life lived in my room working on projects or looking for full-tme work. I realise that it is important to meet with people in person to get the whole picture about picture about the project at hand.

I hope in the near future that my job wishes come true. Moreover I wish for my own design ferm with deparments for all design. Its the love of creation that make my dreams such a desire. I hope they do come true one part at a time.

I have got a new book from amazon, CSS and HTML, Web Design. look like it has the latest tricks for brower hack. it seems to be a great book so far.

Something New

I am for the first time posting from a Windows Mobile Smartphone. This is great, today became a good day with looking for work. After all its a new year and sinse last year life and finding work has been hard. I am currently still working on the Premier Medical Transcriptionist Website and hope that my design will just be as good as the past websites I have done.

It been a slow Christmas…

This year seems to be a slow year. I sure hope that next year will be a year for new beginnings. I haven’t found any time to make any changes to the site or any real updates to this blog. I have once again started to capture the love of doing art and having some great ideas. The more I watch anime the more I love the style of drawings or cells in the animations. I wish to create more art work based on the Japanese style of anime or manga. However, I think I have an idea to work out for the start of the high speed end of the site.

To finish of this year, I will create the rest of the low bandwidth and start the next year with ideas for flash content. I might even think about using the new Microsoft application SilverLight. I don’t know how it works, but it seems to be just as a good alternative for flash. In the end, there will be a time where I need to have knowledge in both.

Start of a New Gallery

Within a span of two day, two good things happened. I was contacted to create a new website for my best friends mother. I love to help out other people in obtaining their goals. The second thing that happened was the start of a new galley. I just learned how to control maximum sizes of images using a piece of CSS code. I love learning new ways of making things work. Back to the new job contract, this job is great I don’t have complete creative control, but it a job which I can handle and use some advance construction for building. Now, if they grow and want to build a dynamic system, they will have in place a template to work from and maybe someone in the future to help them grow. I hope my programming skills a web developer will grow as well.

Let me post some of the internet explorer code or hacks for the image maximum control for CSS, to others this may be new and to advance user this may be not so new.

WordPress is a pain

If you have been paying attention, which I bet most have not, lack there of an audience. You may seen that WordPress is becoming a pain in my side. The CSS is so over bloated and over complicated. It just make the task of getting my site up and running a little slow. I recommend learning all you can about how the inners of WordPress workings, before taking on the design. There are so many little details about the page, that can mess up a current layout/design. I hope in the end with all the changes I am making to the style.css will benefit my website and possible future in the design/web industry.
